This is an online event. You do not have to travel to any specific location. You can participate from the comfort of your own home or anywhere that you have Internet access. The event is accessible from desktop, mobile, and tablet devices. However, for the best user experience, we highly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer.  
This live virtual conference will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. EST.
The event offers valuable information for any healthcare professional supporting patients living with diabetes. We highly recommend this event for any of the following types of healthcare providers: Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietitian, Physician, Pharmacist, Chiropodist, Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Kinesiologist. If you provide diabetes patient care, we encourage you to register.
Yes, please register via links available on the homepage or go directly to the “Register” tab. At this time you will be asked to complete a registration form asking for your contact and demographic information. Once you submit and pay, you will receive a registration confirmation email with your login details. If you don’t receive an email shortly after registering, please be sure to check your spam box. If you still have issues, please contact info@diabetes.ca
If you have received a special code for complimentary registration, we ask that you please contact diabetesfrontlineforum@diabetes.ca so one of our team members can help register you.
On November 7, you will click on the “Login” tab. After entering the login credentials received in your registration confirmation email, you will be taken to the forum’s virtual lobby. At this time you will be able to view welcome and instructional videos on how to navigate our virtual forum. You will receive a virtual participant bag that will include a detailed program, as well as additional diabetes-related information from our sponsors.
Much like an in-person forum, you will be able to watch presentations in the virtual auditorium and participate in Q&A sessions with the speakers. There is also an interactive tradeshow where you can visit a variety of diabetes-related exhibits and ask questions of company representatives via a chat box or arrange a private chat via audio or video options.
To add a little more fun to your day, we are also including gamification with a virtual scavenger hunt and leaderboard where you can earn points for a chance to win prizes. For more information, visit the “Games & Prizes” tab.
During the presentation, questions can be typed into the chat box at anytime, however the speaker will wait until the allotted Q & A period at the end of the presentation to answer questions from the audience.
Virtual events bring the experience of an in-person conference to your personal computer, so just like an in-person conference, you have the freedom to pick the sessions you attend. But many say that attending the event in its entirety will help you get the most out of the experience.
If you do miss any of the sessions or can't attend on November 7th the event remains open until December 7th and you an view any of the presentations or booths at your leisure.
Yes, for early bird registrants the cost is $25 before midnight October 18th, 2020. After October 18th, the registration cost is $25 for Diabetes Canada Professional Members and $50 for Non-Members
No, you do not need to download or install any software to participate in our conference. Nor do you need a webcam to take part. You only need to have access to the internet.
